Application report - Metal extraction from waste incineration residues with portable stroboscope RT STROBE qbLED

Task:

After burning household and commercial waste, there are several types of residue in the slag including ash, clay and glass shards as well as metals. Magnetic metals are relatively easy to regain. However, for non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, brass and copper as well as precious metals, this is much more difficult.

In this case, so-called eddy current separators using induction technology are used. With this process, in electrically conductive metals a magnetic field is induced with highly alternating frequencies. By doing this, the metals are easily deflected practically jump over a release plate on a fast conveyor. The mass flow is so large that the individual particles and the optimal setting of the release plate are nearly impossible to recognize with the naked eye.

Solution:

With the RT STROBE qbLED Stroboscope, only part of the particles are flashed onto. Hence, the human eye only concentrates on these images. This enables the release plate to be adjusted for metal recovery of the interesting metal particles.

With the extremely bright handheld stroboscope, all standard settings such as flash frequency are set by turning the knurl without any special knowledge both quickly and easily.

And if it has to be more specific and you require for special measurements a retarded flash or a slow-motion function, this can be done using the included professional mode.

The RT STROBE qbLED is supplied in a handy case, including operating instructions, calibration certificate, mains power supply with various plugs, a DIN 5-pin plug for the trigger connection and power as well as a grip.
